What is a Barre class?
Barre class is the ultimate full-body workout.

It is a low impact, high intensity workout combining the best standing Pilates work, short cardio intervals, to dance moves in a ballet class.
This dynamic fusion of ballet, Pilates and fitness provides an all over body workout with special attention for the legs, butt, thighs and arms.
Using the Ballet Barre, bands and balls, Barre class is a combination of basic ballet positions, a resistance workout using rubber bands and a cardio component.
You don’t need to bring any special equipment and you don’t need any experience. Simply wear normal gym or workout attire, bare feet or grippy socks, and bring a towel and waterbottle.
A Barre class is the perfect combination of Pilates and cardio.
Don’t be tricked into thinking this is an easy class! Whilst it’s gentle on your joints and easy on the pelvic floor, it’s anything but an “easy, gentle” class!
Plenty of people in my classes have used this class to help prepare for the ski season or for hiking – endurance and leg strength needed for both.
The class is accessible for everybody and all levels of fitness.
Believe me, I don’t have a dance background (none, at all!) and I LOVE this class.
With Barre’s flowing sequences you will feel like your body is re-aligned, balanced and centered. Best of all you will feel more connected to your body, giving you a sense of self and confidence which can be only be ignited through the joy of movement.
The best way to understand this is to try it for yourself.
